Why Play Shift?

Shift is a psychological game, in the sense that we, through self-examination and laughter, can begin to understand where our thoughts are coming from and the power they hold.  In fact, we have no neutral thoughts.  All of our thoughts come from love or fear and once we are able to recognize where our thoughts come from, we can further understand where our thoughts are taking us.

The point of the game is to move from fear to love, and drop three defenses along the way.  Our defenses hold us back from reaching our full potential.  Though sometimes we may be “the procrastinator,” that is not who we are as a person. Our defenses are not our identity.  In order to drop our defenses, we must be able to recognize when we have acted as those defenses, but also, when we have not. This, in turn, can show us why we use those defenses, and why we don’t need to at all. Once a player makes it to love, they must answer the question, “What current situation in your life could a shift in thought affect the most?” to win. 

The reason this game was created  is simple. We want to remind you that you can control your thoughts once you are aware of what you are thinking.  What you believe is exactly what you will experience. If after playing this game, you start seeing where your thoughts are coming from, then we all win. And, if you can actually change those thoughts that hold you back, can you imagine what we will be able to shift?

How Crystal Bowls Are Made

Crushed and powdered quartz crystal is used to make the bowls. It is dropped into a centrifugal force spinning container and ignited to approximately 4000 degrees centigrade. This process blends the particles, and the bowl is created. The result is a synthesized form of absolute timbre, which is able to send out a tone, perceptible by the ear for almost 2000 feet.

Description of Crystal Bowls

Crystal bowls have definite eye appeal. They are available in clear and frosted crystal, in a variety of sizes, ranging from 6 to 24 inches in diameter.

The clear bowls, somewhat more expensive, are more readily available in smaller sizes. The sound from the clear bowls is often interpreted as more intense and pure, and is preferred by some. The frosted bowls also emit a powerful, resonance. The larger bowls are much more reverberant, with the tone lingering longer, simply because of the size and amount of crystal. The size of the bowl does not necessarily determine its note.

Each bowl is tested with digital technology to identify its sound. One will have a sense of which tone "feels" most congruent with individual needs or desires. The notes, C,D,E,F,G,A,B correspond with one's energy centers or Chakras. Some bowls harmonize with another bowl, and when both are played simultaneously, the effect is exquisite and synergistic.

The Crystal/Body Relationship

Crystals are fossilized water, formed when water combines with an element under certain conditions of pressure, temperature and energy. As a crystal, the element is able to express itself as a more unified and ordered being.

Silica sand, combined with water becomes quartz crystal. Quartz crystals have many physical properties. They transform, store, focus, and transfer energy. We see the results in microphones, radio and television equipment, timepieces, laser tools, and computers to name a few.

Our bodies, too, are crystalline in structure. When working with crystals, there may be profound effects on the organs, tissues, and cells, as well as the circulatory, endocrine, and metabolic systems.

Thoughts are energy forms. When thought energy interacts with a crystal, those thoughts are changed to more harmonic forms, which change brainwave frequencies, showing possible alterations in consciousness. Thus, the power of positive intention or affirmation combined with the music of crystal bowls provides remarkable healing results.
