THE TAPESTRY OF PENELOPE In Greek myth, Penelope was the wife of Ulysses or Odysseus. His adventures were put forth by Homer in the Odyssey – a word that, to this day, suggests a journey of major importance that offers a variety of experiences. While Odysseus was fighting wars in Troy and eluding Sirens and having other adventures, Penelope was home in Greece weaving a tapestry. She had many suitors, but was a faithful wife to Odysseus and would tell those suitors that she would be theirs when she finished weaving that particular piece. However, each night she would unravel the work she had done the day before, thus keeping faith to her husband even though she didn’t know if he would ever return home. One can only imagine the invitations and propositions she received and the excuses she concocted for never finishing her project. In a different time, her memoirs might have made a best seller and gotten her an appearance on Oprah! As with most of us, however, our own stories are the most compelling and this Penelope has the tools available to assist in the telling of yours. I have followed the on line astrological writings of Penelope for a number of years and recently contacted her directly. She did a reading for me over the phone and then sent me the tape of it. I was immediately impressed with her reading and after revisiting the tape I'm even more so. She picked out a number of things in my chart that I have always been somewhat aware of and explored them in a way that made them more practical for me. I think she has an exceptional mind for astrological relationships which can be complicated and confusing. She also has a very kind voice which made me feel comfortable right from the start of the reading!” ~ Katherine, Portland, OR “My reading with Penelope went very well. She was very professional but also very nice and down to earth at the same time. She was very straight forward and honest which I appreciated a lot. I had been to a so called psychic recently who promised me everything I wanted, gained my trust and tried to take my money, I’m glad that Celestial Liaisons Unlimited runs a fair business and the information I received from Penelope was more grounded even though the news Penelope told me wasn't exactly what I was hoping for at least she didn't lead me astray.” ~ Melissa, Sutton, Massachusetts “I loved seeing you again and enjoyed our time together. There's a couple of good days in the info you gave with going into the ‘rhythm with the universe and aligned with the stars" phase in my life, which helps me to mitigate the frustration and challenges I have been experiencing. I will just continue to access my natural optimism which has sure gotten a run for it's money the last few years and remember that I've had some wonderful times in my life ... some from luck but most from just tenaciously hard work. So I'll try to stay open to all possibilities but put my efforts into doing what I want to do. Thanks for the heads up on the surgery, I will wait till the end of the year as you suggested. Again dear friend, thanks for focusing on what I asked you to do.” ~ Marcia, Los Angeles, CA |

THE TAPESTRY
The astrological chart is perhaps the most definitive way for a person to know his/her own story. With the date, time and place of birth, an astrologer can discuss those areas in ones life that bring joy and those that bring sorrow. Conflict, ease, success and difficulty are also visible. Personality traits apparent to others, but aren’t visible to us can be seen in the chart. Future trends can also be examined with the areas of life being affected and options that can be considered to mitigate the tough times and capitalize on those suggesting more ease. I have found this to be important, because many people let the good times roll and often don’t take advantage of the opportunities available to them during these times of grace. Examining the times of stress offers the ability to appreciate the challenges and create value from what seems to be only hard times. Relationships can be examined – both in the personal chart and through synastry: the comparison of one’s chart with that of another. Some have called the astrological chart a mandala, which is a design that symbolizes the universe used in Hindu and Buddhist meditation. Since each of us is a universe unto ourselves, then the chart is indeed a mandala worth contemplating. It is the map of the
heavens at the time of birth and the TAPESTRY of a life.
Tarot cards first made their appearance sometime during the thirteenth century. The deck is broken down into two parts: the Major Arcana and the Minor Arcana. Not surprising from the use of the word Arcana, which in and of itself means hidden or secret. No one knows exactly where the cards came from. The Major Arcana consists of 22 cards that, when they appear in a reading, suggest significant life changing events that are often out of the conscious control of the person getting the reading. The Minor Arcana consists of 56 cards and is the forerunner of the playing cards used today – with the Knight and Page being combined to make up the Jack. The only card retained from the Major Arcana is the Fool – which was renamed: the Joker. The Minor Arcana is broken down into suits that relate to the emotional life (Cups/Hearts), mental life (Swords/Spades), intuitive life (Wands/Clubs) and physical life (Pentacles/Diamonds). Cups also relate to water, Swords to air, Wands to fire and Pentacles to earth and so, in turn correlate to the astrological chart. The Tarot is most often used to answer specific questions, rather than examining one’s life as a whole, and can be an excellent tool for showing how the TAPESTRY of one’s life will proceed if the path being taken is or isn’t adjusted. As a Tarot reader for
over 25 years, I have helped people to see what changes might need to be
made to put them on a stronger path for success in whatever area that is
troubling them. This is often the most fortune-telling type of reading
that can be given. Reiki is a hands-on healing technique developed in Tibet by Reverend Usui. While meditating, he received a vision of different signs that when placed on his hands allowed healing energy to flow from the universe into the bodies of the people he was working on. In order to practice Reiki, one must be attuned by a Master and either be a licensed masseuse or minister. I am a Reiki Master and a minister in the Universal Life Church. One of the unique and wonderful abilities that Reiki affords is that it can be done on an absentee basis, i.e., someone can receive healing from a 2nd degree or Master Reiki practitioner even though they are not in the same room or even country. Since our body is the most precious TAPESTRY that we have, keeping the energy balanced is of utmost importance. I have used Reiki to assist cancer patients, people suffering with arthritis and other health issues where the Reiki assists the body to both deal with the pain of the illness as well as the stress – allowing the body to do it own healing. This service is also available for pets. I have 10 years of experience doing healing work with animals and have had success with reduction of tumors, pain and stress. In addition to Reiki healing, the use of flower essences in dealing with healing issues is also provided with the consultation.
