In
ancient times, Astrology and Astronomy were inseparable, and every
Astronomer/Astrologer practiced both as a matter of course. Astrology
and Astronomy were one science, language and art. Over the centuries,
Astrology/Astronomy became a science of measurement, dealing with
magnitudes, distances, motions, physical conditions and mutual relations
of the celestial bodies. Astronomy always held a significance for us
beyond the simple matter of navigation.
The major difference
between the words Astronomy and Astrology is that Astronomy means the
naming of the stars and Astrology relates to the language or
"logos" of the stars.
Astrology
goes one step further than Astronomy in that it is the study of
interplanetary relationships, extra-terrestrial intelligence's and
universal energy fields applicable to human existence. It is through
Astrology that we can gain insight into the whys of the entire spectrum
of astronomy where the scientist has found obstacles that they are still
unable to penetrate. Therefore we have to take this giant step forward
in bridging the gap and reinforcing the necessary link between celestial
and terrestrial entities.
The
Language of the Cosmos ("Astrology") is the interpretation of
cosmic rays through a series of mathematical formulas. It is based on
the geometric angles (angels) which connect these frequencies to Earth
and the individual’s energy field. The only constant in the universe
is change. The constant movement of the celestial spheres drive the
evolutionary force of all life. All cycles of Astrology lead toward
evolution. What is not completed in one cycle is then carried over to
the next, similar to catching a bus, if you miss the first one, there
will always be another one, only depending on its schedule, there could
be a very long wait.
Make no bones about it, to erect an astrological chart is an exercise in
mathematics, astronomy, research and an understanding of metaphysical
principles. The actual interpretation or reading of a chart, which
becomes the "horoscope" (Latin for "hour pointer")
that emerges is an exploration of the most rarefied proportion of human
thought, the element of time. Time has its ridiculous aspects, as we all
know but it also has its power.
So why should the stars influence us? So many have tried to explain away
the strength of heavenly bodies on our experience and destinies, but no
one has successfully been able to disprove it. What is the link of
sunspots to business cycles on Wall Street? The Moon, its tides and
consequent phases, determine daily human life on earth, we are made up
of about 85-90% water, last time I checked, as the moon influences all
water on the earth, why should we, be exempt? In science lies the
answer. It is through experiment, observations, much thought and finally
evidence, that a law is discovered.
Astrology furnishes us with a reason for the "how" and
"why" of many things in our lives. It is our work to learn its
messages and profit by its prognostications. In no other way can we
benefit from the astral revelations spread before our eyes in the starry
heavens. Astrology proves that all life is regulated by immutable Laws.
Through knowledge of astrology we get a better understanding of the twin
laws of rebirth and consequence, because in interpreting a horoscope we
see the cause for the event.
"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose
under the heavens." ~ Ecclesiastes 3:1
Astrology is based on the ancient Hermetic Law, which states: "As
above, so below". The life force which enters into your physical
body at the moment of birth is derived from a combination of energies
operating in the celestial sphere at your time and place of entering
life on this earth plane. The true essence of Astrology is a tool in
helping us to understand our energies. All life is made up of energy.
Understanding and Awareness of the life forces operating in our lives
enables us to understand ourselves, our relationships and our cycles
which we are all subject to, whether we are aware of them or not.
Astrology in its higher sense is a true guide of life. To be practical,
it must always combine the spiritual side with the material, endeavoring
to solve and improve everyday problems and conditions. It must point the
way to better living and thinking. It must prove beyond a shadow of a
doubt that virtue is its own priceless reward. We may be given fortunate
opportunities, but only in so far as we exert ourselves to grasp them
will that which is foreshadowed come to pass. The word horoscope is
Latin for hour pointer and is actually a picture of the heavens at the
moment and place of an event or birth. A natal horoscope is actually a
blueprint of empyreal influences which shows only tendencies and
probabilities and the material with which we start out with to build our
character and our destinies. We can rise above our horoscopes. The
heavens are filled with God's messengers who are ever guiding us on our
pathway, telling us through vibratory urges what to do, how and when to
do it. We are born on this plane to obtain knowledge and wisdom. When we
have obtained them, it becomes our duty to pass on all that we know to
our fellow man. The stars point the way.
It's been said, that the measure of man's stature is the measure of
man's mind" As a man thinketh, so he is".
Unfortunately, the mass of humanity does not like to think for
themselves, because it requires discipline to think. It is much easier
to follow the emotions and the way the mass media is going.
But the age of unbridled emotions is passing, the time has come when the
mass mind must be stimulated and quickened. We are all effected by the
recent events taking place on our planet, and due to this along with the
cosmic influences occurring, we are being forced to have a change in
consciousness and attitude. The mental bodies are beginning to take
definite form. This is done by giving the mind work to do. The study of
astrology, which involves precise mathematical thinking, is of great aid
in mental development.
This truth is not only progressive, nor is it only an enfoldment, or the
process of evolution, there is another factor which is taking place now
and that is Epigenesis, which means the creation of something new,
something never done before - the formation of new characteristics, the
expansion of consciousness, originality, and creative energy. We are now
being stretched to new limits.
We are entering a period of something phenomenal - new ideas, new views
which all need to be adjusted and assimilated.
We are in the middle of a cultural spiritual revolution that is sweeping
the planet. An accelerated growth in consciousness is affecting every
human being, snowballing so, that the perceived sense of the pace of
evolution is quickening. We are waking up from centuries of sleep. As
humanity becomes increasingly dissatisfied with life lacking in
significance, more and more individuals will turn to Astrology to
satisfy a need that has not been met by traditional systems.
The birth chart is a blueprint of the soul’s intention for this life
and helps individuals to discover the purpose that brought them into
this incarnation as well as reveal their Karmic intentions and lessons.
The beauty of Astrology is that it allows individuals an in-depth
exploration of the inner world without assuming something is wrong with
them in the first place. This is a healing in itself in that it helps
people to re-discover the purpose and meaning of their lives in a larger
context than traditional systems are able to provide.
The job of the Astrologer is to interpret these influences as
opportunities towards growth, along with perceiving the potential of how
these opportunities might affect the individual derived upon
observational data and to offer suggestions to the individual as to how
they might utilize these influences to their advantage.
The Ancients believed the planetary bodies were Gods and Goddesses, with
personalities and characters, ruling over different departments of life
here in the Solar System, each in charge of different energy rays (vibrational
frequencies).
When the planets aspect each other, for instance in trines (120 degree
aspect) or a sextile (60 degree aspect), they are in harmony with
each others’ energy fields, and their corresponding rays merge, blend
and seem to fuse together with ease and harmony. When an individual
either experiences these transits or is born under them there are
blessings of ease and grace to their affairs, with little or no effort
life seems to hum along smoothly.
However, when the planets are in a square (90 degree angle) or an
opposition (180 degree angle) the gods challenge and test each other
through these angles to produce further growth in the evolutionary
process.
These aspects in transit to natal horoscopes are the challenging times
of our lives which cause the impetus needed for growth and further
evolutionary development. Quincunxes (150 degree angles) represents an
adjustment. When two or more planets form a 150 degree angle, this
particular angle is considered a hard aspect, as mathematically
(geometrically speaking), they have absolutely nothing in common, and
the force field that is thereby formed, calls for an adjustment.
Conjunctions (0-10 degrees apart) can also be stressful aspects as the
energy of one planet literally mounts the energy of another, with the
purpose of merging. Depending on the planets in the conjunction, can
determine whether, it will be a phase of stress or harmony.
All aspects, cycles, phases of the cosmos have but one goal: EVOLUTION.
Without a certain amount of friction or tension, there wouldn’t be
growth. There would only be stagnation and complacency, and that would
be the antithesis of the Divine Plan.
Most of the time, due to the Universal Law of Balance, when there are
stressful aspects (squares, oppositions, quincunxes, conjunctions) there
always seems to be a trine or sextile thrown in to balance and assist
with the challenge. This is not only Divine Order, but also Divine
Timing, however, some may call it Grace.
One of the main purposes of Astrological Analysis is to tune into the
outer influences in your life through celestial energies. Being aware of
these vibrations allows one to take control of their own destiny,
instead of being tossed and thrown by every wave and wind that blows.
Through the use of your own Free Will and Freedom of Choice, you can
through awareness alter your destiny through the way you choose to
respond and react to certain influences. The stars impel, but they do
not compel.
Science probes for answers that religions take on faith and Astrology is
the bridge between them.
