Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water, our solar system decides to throw us all another ‘wobbler’. We begin a new Moon and Solar Wobble on July 1 through August 20. (see Moon Wobble) The center of the Wobble is at 6 degrees of Leo which happens to be right on the United States’ chart Destiny point, making it an important and critical Wobble. Since the Wobbles’ focal point will be in the fire sign of Leo along with Mars traveling through Leo till August 10, the potential for fires, especially forest fires is high. All in all, this cycle is about causing your personal issues to surface as well as the collective issues affecting the world. In a nutshell, Wobbles, Retros and Eclipses are indicators of times for change. They always precede major shifts around the world, major adjustments in the direction of personal lives and change in the way the ‘wind is blowing’. The greatest discomfort that comes with these cycles is the chasm between those who resist the opportunity for change and those who are trying to implement it. We see this played out on the world stage in political, economic and religious arenas. The conflict is about those who want to hold on to the way things were, and those who want to see progress, improvement and advancement.

Blue Moons occur when there are 2 Full Moons in a calendar Month. July 31, 2004 will be the 2nd Full Moon in July, and this will be happening in the unpredictable and eclectic sign of Aquarius. There will be some surprises and a few shocks to contend with as this Full Moon is taking place during the peak of the Moon Wobble, so hold on to your seats boys & girls, you’re in a for an adventurous ride. Uranus rules Aquarius which is in retrograde now till November 11, 2004, this will bring up the need to rebel against the status quo, and to those in positions of authority in addition to feeling the need to express one’s need for change and liberation of spirit on all levels. The planet will experience its fair share of rebellions. Even though Aquarius is a fixed air sign, in Astrology fixed signs are considered to be the most stubborn, determined and inflexible, Aquarians, however take a little bit of exception to that rule, because Aquarius is ‘fixed’ on change. Many Aquarians wrestle with this in their upbringings as they are placed in dogmatic families and they are the ones to break free and be labeled the ‘black sheep’ for being different. The greatest rift on this planet today is between the past and the future. The greatest challenge is letting go of past patterns and recognizing the things that no longer serve us as well as those things that have repeatedly brought us more harm than good, i.e., religion and racism.

In order to dismantle & dissolve stubbornness to old ways, old thought forms and belief systems that have outlived their purpose, we need to bring in the concept of ‘homeopathy’, where one needs a similar energy to balance and cancel its deleterious effects. This is found in Aquarius, which rules the new age. Aquarius is persistent in fighting for change and its determination to liberate and its loyalty to freedom is often the catalyst for rebellions and making huge differences in Humanitarian causes.

There are two types of Aquarians, the Saturnian types who are more conservative and who oddly enough resist change and the Uranus types who go with the flow and become bored with routine and thrive on change, adventure and progress. Even though this full moon will be 9 degrees of Aquarius when it is at its peak, full moons generally last for 2-1/2 days, so the entire spectrum of the sign and then some into it’s early Pisces phase will influence the ‘fullness’ of time here and anyhow you slice it, it spells ‘change’.

Aquarius rules humanitarianism, and the plight of humans suffering around the globe will find more attention during this time, such as the plight of the Sudanese refugees, who are being slaughtered incessantly in a conflict over race and religion. Uranus in Pisces is breaking up and liberating many from the age-old pattern to make one’s religion or one’s God better than the other. Believe it or not, we will look back on those patterns when we are all consciously awakened beings and think, ‘how silly we all once were’.

Another interesting event occurring during the week preceding the Blue Moon is the Democratic Convention. Of course we can expect a few surprises coming out of there.

The good news about Election Day 2004 is that Mercury is not in retrograde as it was in the last General Election, so there will be a minimal of recounts going on, certainly not as controversial as the last election! The moon will be in Cancer all day (no voids) which indicates that many people will vote with their emotions and their heart. They will bring their most emotionally charged issues to the ballot box and translate it into their vote for better or for worse. Venus is only 3 degrees away from an exact conjunction with Jupiter, which indicates a victory for women, women’s issues and those who are on the side of the "Doves". (many refer to Democrats as Doves and to the Republicans as Hawks, in terms of foreign policy and military stances). Mars will be coming into an exact square to Saturn, which will openly challenge all those ‘sitting’ in positions of power and authority, as the general consensus seems to indicate the desire for changes on all levels.

It is the collective consciousness that chooses its leadership. This is done prior to the election. The election is only a manifestation of the will and consciousness of the collective. It is because of this process and the timing of events with Jupiter’s entry into Libra, that justice will be done on many levels, that will take well over a year to see and manifest. Voter turnout will be unprecedented compared to previous General Elections.

Libra is the sign of relationships. It is the sign of reflection (mirror image), reciprocation, consideration, diplomacy, tactfulness, good manners. This is where the "Golden Rule" comes from, "Do Unto Others as You Would Have Others Do Unto You". Many NDEs (Near Death Experiencers) tell of a kind of video that is seen on the other side after dying, where they get to experience themselves through the eyes of others. They literally ‘feel’ what its like to be in someone else’s shoes. When Jupiter enters Libra on September 24, 2004, we will collectively be given the opportunity to tune into this both globally and personally.

Libra is known as the sign of peace. It’s opposite sign, Aries is known as the sign of War. Libra is ruled by Venus and Aries is ruled by Mars. With Jupiter’s entry in Libra, the peace movement and the desire for peace will expand globally, so much so, that people will fight and sacrifice for it. To many, "peace" may be an elusive ideal but it will certainly have its day eventually. Jupiter’s transit through Libra will produce a major shift in the attitudes of many of the world’s leaders, and judicial systems. Many issues will surface that will be put on ‘trial’ for the world to decide. Libra is the sign of decisions, and as much of this world hangs in the balance between war and peace, when decisions are made, they will have far reaching results and expand into the grid of the world. Jupiter in Libra awakens us to how connected we all are on the most intricate and intimate levels. It is about our relationship (Libra) to one another and the interconnectedness we all share with the world and everyone in it. With Jupiter in Libra the focus will be on relationships, diplomacy, building bridges and mending fences.

In the past, all the planets were considered as "Gods" & "Goddesses". Mythology is rich with various stories and dramas which have subsequently become woven into the fabric of our archetypal consciousness. The planet Jupiter is also known as "Zeus" the great God, husband of Hera, Father of Hercules (Mars), Uranus, Neptune and Hades (Pluto) who was considered the outcast and black sheep. Astrologically speaking, Jupiter is known as the Great Cosmic Santa Claus, who comes to bestow abundant blessings of whose generosity expresses the pure goodness of the Universe. This is why in Astrology we joke about the only negative thing of a Jupiter transit is ‘too much of a good thing’.

Well, let’s face it, you can. That is what the planet Saturn is for. Limitations. There are limits which are really for our own good. Saturn is the Lord of Karma, the keeper of the scales of debits and credits, cause and effect. For example, when Jupiter crosses one’s ascendant, it’s a time of rebirth, wonderful new opportunities abound, as the 1^st house attracts the 7^th house of relationships, and for those who have been alone, single and kind of lonely during Jupiter’s transit through the 12^th house of dreams, the subconscious and the need to reprogram oneself, when Jupiter enters your first house, "it’s party time"! Life is full of social events and as a result one’s waistline can show for it. That would be an example of too much of a good thing.

However, when Jupiter’s in Libra, the sign that Saturn is exalted in, (the scales of balance), the awareness will inevitably expand on how much is too much and how far is too far and when it’s never enough. Libra’s energy of justice will certainly kick in Jupiter’s rulership over Judges, Teachers and Ministers to come forward and preach and teach morality, ethics, legalities and fair play. And we can expect for the year that Jupiter’s in Libra, a lot of new legislature to be passed, as well as a shake up or two in the Supreme Court.

Libra is also the sign of debate. On the flip side of the scale, Librans, being the sign of peace and harmony, do love a good debate and often excel at intellectual jousting. They are fair-minded but love the thrill of the game and competition it ensues. When Jupiter travels through Libra, you can expect a lot of national debate going on, that will almost seem like people are divided into camps. It certainly seems that way now, but Jupiter’s influence will magnify this so, that it could turn into an all out competition, and one would be judged by who’s team you’re on, i.e., the general election. This is where we need to be mindful of those things that separate us and always keep in mind the things that connect us. The spirit of cooperation, good sportsmanship and fairplay will expand into the grid of consciousness through Jupiter in Libra’s influence. We will somehow learn to celebrate our differences for the good of all concerned.

As Jupiter’s passage through Libra influences balance it also consequently expands the imbalances, injustices and conflicts in the world, which is why it so often creates a war-like atmosphere as it causes those who feel injustices have occurred to take action (Libra is cardinal) and insist on Justice through means of force. Therefore, Jupiter in Libra has been known for its share of wars, changes in power, civil wars, revolutions, rebellions, secessions, coups, genocides, ethnic violence and assassinations -- all of which are generically described as armed conflicts here. Jupiter’s goes ‘round the Milky Way every 12 years.

Overlapping the Moon Wobble, we’ll also be having another Mercury Retrograde beginning August 9^th through September 2. Even though the Wobble ends on August 20^th, it will still feel like we are wobbling because, Mercury will be retrograde until September 2^nd, and that day happens to be a void of course Moon by the way, so for all intents and purposes, we’re looking at September 3, for the energies to straighten out. If you’re waiting for Mercury retrograde to go direct in order to sign important documents or take important action, wait until September 3 or thereafter. Do not sign anything or launch anything on September 2.

Mercury rules Virgo & Gemini, and when the Cosmic Messenger does his backward boogie in his own signs, these are the most difficult externally. Which one is worse? Well it’s six of one and half a dozen of the other. When Mercury retrogrades in Virgo, the ole Devil’s in the details again. It’s easy to space out the small print and lose track of important details. As Virgo is the sign of health, service and well being, when Mercury retros in Virgo, the message is, it’s time to clean up your health regimen. If you have been neglecting your health, this is a time most likely to come down with something, it’s a metaphor for waking up and paying more attention to your physical needs. Food allergies are very common during this phase. The problem is, many do not realize that it’s a food allergy and think they are either just sick or allergic to outside influences. But Virgo rules the diet, and some of the most common food intolerances that seem to cause the most damage to our health are from dairy products, white processed flour, white sugar and hydrogenated oils. Many will find when they delete these foods from their diet, their health returns to normal. What a miracle! Mercury is the messenger and when traveling in detailed diet-oriented Virgo, it’s time to listen to your body and watch what you eat and drink. The focus is on Integrity and Purity. Purity of thought, purity of intention, purity of what we eat, because the ole saying is true, "you are what you eat". The human body needs more neutraceuticals and less pharmaceuticals. This is also a time to use this retrograde energy to be more introspective and reflective.

Mars enters Virgo on August 10 through September 26, which is a potential trigger factor for the US chart as it will square off with Pluto first and then the Sun. The days to watch are September 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12^th.

Here’s an interesting look backward to prove a pattern….As many of you already know, Pluto has been in Sagittarius since 1995, so every time the Sun or Mars is in either Virgo or Pisces, Pluto will square it, which is a day or two of tension and power struggles. On September 11, 2001 Pluto was squaring the Sun (along with Saturn) as we were in the Pluto/Saturn opposition then, and on March 11, 2004 the day of the Madrid Train bombing, Pluto was squaring the Sun in Pisces. This aspect occurs annually, altering each year by a day or so as Pluto increases and decreases in degrees. This year Pluto will square off to Jupiter on August 6, 2004 and then a square to Mars on September 10 & 11, 2004 and the Sun on September 11, 2004.
